Recent church events at Holy Trinity

Here we let you know about events that have been held recently at Holy Trinity, together with any pictures we took at the time.  If you weren't able to be with us on this occasion we hope you'll come along to future events!

Harvest 24 - Saturday 7th to Sunday 8th October 2017

A Weekend of Fun for All Ages!

The weekend was filled with a host of activities including active worship, children's fun, crafts, a bouncy castle, storytelling and much more ..... plus, a traditional barn dance with live caller and fish and chip supper.

All finished off with a heart 'Big Breakfast' followed by the Harvest Thanksgiving Parade Service. Refreshments afterwards included a special cake to celebrate our first 'birthday' back in church after the re-ordering.

Quiz night - Saturday 24th June 2017

On Saturday evening we enjoyed what seems to be becoming our annual quiz night.

Eight teams competed for the kudos of being the Holy Trinity Quiz winners and a fun time was had by all.

We learnt that Spaghetti Junction covers 30 acres and that the Rector's favourite film is 'Field of Dreams'.

The young people had their own list of questions and activities - complete with 'surprise prizes'. By an amazing coincidence they each won a surprise prize so were happy.

To complete a most satisfying evening, we all had a portion of fish and chips from our friendly local chippy - 'B my Chip'. How they manage to produce over 50 portions so quickly, and to such a high standard is a mystery!

There will surely be another church quiz in due course - please do come along and join in next time if you missed this one!

Celebrating the Queen's Birthday - June 2016

On 12th June we held a lunch to celebrate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty the Queen.

We had great party food and even relived our youth with a game of 'pass the parcel'. The table was so long we needed two parcels, plus another for the children.

Lunch was finished off in the traditional birthday party manner with a piece of delicious birthday cake. In the absence of Her Majesty the cake was cut by the Rector's wife!

Fun quiz and fish 'n' chip supper - April 2016

On Saturday 23rd April we held one of our famous Holy Trinity Quizzes!

Eight teams competed for the kudos of being quiz champions and to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon prize.

As with all our quizzes it was informal, fun and covered an enormous range of subjects for old and young alike. No need for genius IQs. And we discovered that our youngest quizzer - Verity - at the age of only three knew all the planets of the solar system in order!

And we all enjoyed our fish and chip supper.

There will be more quizzes coming so if you fancy joining us next time watch out for our adverts. You'll be very welcome. Come in a ready-made  team or just on your own and we'll find you a team to join.
