I’m coming to the end of my first month as Curate at Holy Trinity Parish Church and it’s been a time of new experiences, meeting new people (and remembering names!) and stepping into the unknown in various ways.
New-ness is often uncomfortable, and sometimes downright scary, but it’s also a gift. I’ve certainly been deeply grateful for the genuinely warm welcome and the care and concern for my family and me. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed visiting some of the people who contribute to the life of Holy Trinity Parish Church and I’ve even begun knitting a blanket, with encouragement from our knit and natter group!
I’m glad to be a part of a wonderful team of ordained and lay people who lead and nurture the church family and the wider community with their various gifts and experiences and I’m looking forward to meeting more people as time goes on and opportunity allows. Feeling settled has it’s definite appeal but, in a way, I hope I don’t lose this sense of ‘newness’ altogether.
