The wider church
Church of England
You're probably aware that Christianity comes in different forms - denominations. Some people are Roman Catholic, some are Eastern Orthodox, & so on. We at Holy Trinity are part of the Anglican Communion. In England, the Anglican denomination is the Church of England.
The Church of England covers every square centimetre of the country. It is divided into dioceses, each led by a bishop. Each diocese is divided into parishes.
Holy Trinity is part of the Diocese of Birmingham. We are the parish church for a substantial part of Sutton Coldfield. You can see our parish boundaries by looking at our webpage on A Church Near You.
Working with others
Although we are a separate parish, we work closely with other Anglican churches in the area - especially with two other parishes whose boundaries we touch: together with St Chad's, Sutton Coldfield and St Peter's, Maney we are 'The Sutton Coldfield Group'. Our clergy work together, we share services & other events from time to time, & between us we employ a youth worker and run a youth club.
We work with local churches from other Christian denominations too. Each denomination expresses the faith differently but, in the end, our core belief is the same. So we are part of Churches Together in Central Sutton Coldfield. Clergy & other church leaders meet regularly & we occasionally have joint services or events.
