Our world is filled with so much wonder. It holds vast resources, there for us use. And so this Sunday (14th Oct) at our Harvest service we’ll be giving thanks for all that the world offers us.
Yet those resources aren’t there for us to use without thought … our Creator intends that we should use them carefully, fairly.
Too often we take what the world offers without a thought for how it will be replenished, or of the damage we do in over-taking things. The result is human-made climate change and an ecological system out of balance.
And too often we take what the world offers and share it unfairly. The result is a world where some live in comfort and wealth while others struggle for even the basics of life.
So on Sunday we won’t only be giving thanks. We’ll also be thinking about what we need to do to put things right … treat the world’s resources thoughtfully, share them fairly. Why not join us as we give thanks for our world and all that it offers … and how our Creator intends that we should use it?
