Holy Trinity Church Heritage Open Day
September 14 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pmFree
As part of Heritage Open Days – England’s largest festival of history and culture. A day for all the family – everyone welcome. Free entry.
Come along to learn about the ordinary people who exercised power in Sutton Coldfield in centuries gone by. Lots of family fun including dressing up and craft activities. Weather permitting, we’ll have our ever-popular trips up the tower!
This will be our third Heritage Open Day and we’ll be supporting the national theme of ‘People Power’ with some wonderful stories from Sutton’s past, researched by local historians. Why did the Moot Hall collapse? What was all the fuss about the allocation of new pews? Find out about about the resistance to the attempted enclosure of Sutton Park – given to the people by Henry VIII himself.
Last admission 3.00 pm.
Craftivism workshop – Trinity Centre, 11.00 am to 2.00pm
A workshop as part of the Heritage Open Day at Holy Trinity Parish Church Sutton Coldfield. “Proud Cloud” will encourage participants of all ages to express their appreciation of those who have demonstrated People Power – from past and present! Using craftivism resources facilitators will encourage all ages to “have a go” at their very own “Proud Cloud” or contribute to a group effort.
See you there!
Please note: parking is limited, so prioritised for people with disabilities / drop-off. Where possible people should park nearby and walk to the site. Contact for the day: Stella Thebridge
