Friends’ season going well!

We’re now half way through our 6th annual season of concerts and events. As is the norm, we’ve tried to have something for everyone as the highest professional standard.

Folk band ‘Inlay’ kicked off our season in October, followed by the legendary rockers ‘The Steve Gibbons Band’. On the 9th February, local pianist/organist Vincent Byrne presented and accompanied ‘A Night of Silent Film’. No doubt the recent interest in the Stan & Ollie film drew the crowds to watch one of the Laurel & Harry’s classics with the main feature ‘Our Hospitality’ starring the late great Buster Keaton. Those 3 events have already raised over £5000.

Next month, we welcome the prestigious Zelkova Quartet – an award winning string ensemble. Lichfield Cathedral Choir returns in May – this time with the Boy Choristers and Lay Vicars Choral. Finishing the season in June are The Bluebird Belles- destined to entertain us with wartime classics!

With so much still to come, you might be surprised to hear that our following 2019/2020 season is already fixed. There will definitely be some surprises alongside the proven crowd-pullers. I won’t reveal more so you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for more news on a future blog!

Tickets for all of our concerts and events are available now via the ‘What’s On’ section of
