Christmas Music Treats

Lots to look forward to this Christmas on the music front and a range of things to suit all tastes.

Several choirs from across the dioceses are joining ours for a singalong during the Christmas Tree festival, so we do hope people will come and join in on Sat 7th Dec at 6pm for an hour of carols old and new.

The festival ends with evensong when the congregation will be able to join in a sung service and hymns on Sun 8th at 5.30pm - the first for the best part of ten years!

During Advent we will sing old favourites and some lesser-known but equally beautiful hymns and carols from 'Lo, he comes with clouds descending' and 'O come, O come Emmanuel', to 'As Joseph was a walking' (The cherry treee carol) and 'The angel Gabriel from heaven came'.

Christmas brings our traditional services of:

  • Carols and Lessons in candlelight on Sunday 22nd at 6.30pm
  • Crib Service for children of all ages on Christmas Eve at 3.30pm
  • Midnight Eucharist (starting at 11.30pm on 24th)
  • 10am Christmas Morning Communion service.

All will offer the opportunity for praise through singing of carols in keeping with church tradition down the centuries. Do join us!
