The singing bug

Following on from a fair amount of singing at Easter culminating in a creditable performance of Roger Jones' musical Jerusalem Joy the choir has now started on the wedding season and also fitted in a couple of anthems at the Civic Service which were very well-received.

One member of the congregation even suggested we make a recording of Rutter's "The Lord bless you and keep you". I jest not, but I think we'll wait a bit before going down that route.

We are now gearing up to some special music for our church's special day this Sunday - Trinity Sunday - which is also a Parade service and makes a special tribute to the Queen in a setting of a famous very old hymn tune (the setting was written for the Coronation back in 1953).

Our anthem by Bob Chilcott dates from 2001 so we span the old and the new! Some of us are also preparing for the travelling evensong to Baddesley Clinton and Lapworth on 1st July. Do come along. We're also thrilled to have two new members - Teresa and Steve - who recently moved to the area.
