Jerusalem Joy

During tonight's evening service the congregation were treated to a performance of Jerusalem Joy, an Easter musical. Written by Roger Jones, it tells the story of Easter from Palm Sunday to the Resurrection. Holy Trinity Choir was supported by members of Sutton Coldfield Chamber Choir, members of the congregation and singers from other local churches. They were accompanied by Michael Gainford on the piano, and Leslie Gainford and James Petley on the clarinet. A special thank you to our Director of Music, Stella Thebridge and our soloists, Alex, Neil, David and Nick.

Post Christmas Party - Saturday 21st January 2012

We started the New Year with something for everyone. A three course meal, followed by a quiz challenge, party games, musical interlude by Lesley and Michael Gainsford, sing-a-long lead by Alex Parker accompanied by Lesley and Michael, and a 'dramatic' performance of the Russian folk story 'Babushka' by members of the congregation. A big thank you to the Social Committee for putting it all together.

Wendy's Bring and Share Sixtieth Birthday Party 11th December

Wendy wanted to share her birthday with her church family, so we had a bring and share lunch to celebrate. The congregation brought the food and Wendy brought Bucks Fizz for everyone. She also brought raffle prizes and we raised £93 for the church.

Just 4 Starters evening - Saturday 3rd December

The Team The Team

A team of men from Holy Trinity have run successful Pudding Evenings in the past and were asked to consider those with a more savoury palate and do a Starters Evening. So there were four starters and one pudding with a quiz round between each course.

The courses were:

1 Carrot and Coriander Soup served with French bread

2 Pears poached in red wine with Blue Cheese and Walnuts

3 Paella

4 Terrine of Pork with apple chutney and French Bread

5 Apple Crumble served with your choice of Custard or Fresh Cream 6 Mince Pies.

We also had a talk from Susie, our group youth leader, on her life as a nun, which was very interesting, with questions after.

Fifty Six members of the congregation and friends came and had a really good time.

Strawberry Tea - 31st July 2011

We had a wonderful afternoon raising 'seed money' for the Flower Festival by drinking tea and eating cakes, scones, strawberries and cream! All in the beautiful surroundings of Mary and Brian's garden.

It was a lovely afternoon, the weather was kind (very unusual for a summer event) and everyone enjoyed the chance to eat far more cake than normal (it was all in a good cause!).The event raised over £600.
