Generally any
parents living in the parish, or who worship regularly in the church,
may have their
babies Baptised/Christened at Holy Trinity.
In the first instance please contact
our Parish Clerk who will help and advise with details and
arrangements. Baptisms take place during
our main Sunday service at 10.00am, usually on the second Sunday of
each month and is an integrated part of the service. Parents
and Godparents make promises on behalf of the baby.
We hope that in later years the
children will wish to make their own
declaration of faith and be confirmed. This is a special service
conducted by the Bishop and attended by family and friends as well as
members of the congregation. Before this service, classes are held to
discuss what it means to be a Christian, to help them to make this
commitment and how to express this in their own lives.

The Font is
thought to be Saxon with Norman carvings. It was found upturned and
being used as a mounting block at the village inn at Shustoke. It was
brought to the church in 1856. The marble basin comes from the previous
font which dates back to 1760. |
